Ricard Cilli chats with newly appointed AD of WA Ballet.

The whole of WA is jumping out of its tights awaiting the arrival of the new Artistic Director of the WA Ballet: Ivan Cavallari. Born in Bolzano, Italy he trained at Teatro La Scala, and the Bolshoi. Having danced as principal dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet with choreographers such as John Cranko, George Balanchine, and Jiri Kylian, it is now his turn to take the helm of The West Australian Ballet Company on the other side of the world! Richard Cilli chats to him about his life of dance.

The first thing I want to know is where did you train?
I trained at the Victorian College of the Arts, so yeah, I’m not a Perth person.

Hey Guys - Today I am talking with Andrew Fee, the Brisbane based Artistic Director and Creator of Raw Dance Company to see how Raw Metal, the tap group he started in 1998 has changed over the years and where it will go in the future.

 

Christine: When the original company was created it was known as RAW METAL - how has it changed over the years and what have you added to the RAW EXPERIENCE?
